figured i'd post this here too.

so this past weekend will be called "My Weekend with ITDUBS"
heres how it went;
Friday, met up with dancho around 8.. we drove to london together with the radio off, just talking about shit and smoking blunts.. as much as you wouldn't believe it was a good time, it really was.. time flew by prolly the quickest 2hrs i've ever spent in a car with someone. The show was decent.. ITW played a great set... busted out a Comeback Kid cover.. that was awesome.
Saturday: ITW in st catharines.. had to go to this show.. 2nd last show.. 2nd last chance to see em. they played great once again.. kids were loving it, dancing, singing along..
Sunday: the best show of the weekend.. 500 kids packed the Rosevilla in welland to see ITW last show. It took us over an hour to let all the kids in at the door (making sure they had tickets or advanced tickets.. etc.. ) Everyone had such a great night.. it was sad.. but special none the less.. PERFECT send off for a great bunch of guys.
And all that got me thinking.. how the tenure of ITW as a band basically mirrors the time i was friends with all those guys..especially dancho.
When i first seen ITW.. it was May 2001.. at a show with Unearth in St Catharines.. it was there 2nd show as a band.. at the point I had known Danch and Berardi from their days as Drowning In Pig.. and i knew Fulop from Psilocybin.. didn't know tony or civak (original bass player)...
over the years i went to way to many of their shows.. and as time went on me and dancho became way to tight to the point where now i consider him one of my best friends.. and the years of goin to shows and hangouts gave me time to become such good friends with rob, and tony and eventually dallas too..
After the show was over sunday night.. there was tears in many peoples eyes.. and realizing that not only were these guys losing their band..they were losing a big part of themselves.
but it was a part that touched a lot of peoples lives.. and made a lot of people smile.. and made a lot of people happy.
and yea.. those dudes were definately a great band.. but they are EVEN GREATER friends.
i seriously love you guys like family and am thankful for you guys letting me help you out any way i could.. and making me feel like i belonged.

the show on the sunday was awesome.. seen alot of people, sheryl, denise (welcome home!!), kandice, bianca etc etc.. turn out was great.. little problems arose (one fight early on, one girl puking on herself..) otherwise it was just hundreds of kids united under a common goal: to give ITW one hell of a sendoff.
