things are going ok. still no phones for us. I went off post and visited a castle nearby, and tried to use an international phone there, but after several failed attempts, gave up. I called the number they gave for assistance and the operator that answered didn't speak english.

The castle is Kumamoto Castle and apparently is one of the three greatest castles in Japan.




Here's the inside of my tent and my sole source of heat. =(
