bitching about taxes

Mar 25, 2009 16:36

a tangent i went on after reading my last sleepy blog. the portion about working all day long with no sleep...

continue rant:

...so from now onward please don’t think that I don't work my fucking ass off so I can make money. Money to provide myself with a fucking education. I need $1500 a month for that school excluding living expenses, and the occassional meal, but that's not the point. The point isn't why i do it. to be honest it's none of anyone else's goddamn business how much money i make, whether or not its higher or lower than your income, or why i choose to make more or less money that my peers. the point is:

i work hard.

i inherit nothing.

i am handed nothing.

i am given nothing.

I appreciate EVERYTHING.

So please, cut out the democratic bullshit that it isn't fair some people pay more money, and the only way to make it fair is to have them pay higher taxes.

it isn't fair? it isn't fair that i make more than the people my age who don't pay for their own school? who like going out drinking everynight? who sleep well past 2pm multiple times a week? who ask the government to pay for their fucking rent and school tuition?

who call in sick because they don't feel like working today?

you know what's fair...

punishing someone for their success. i mean, that IS what people do when they're envious, no? for my hard work i must pay more taxes?

....

you know, it would be a fine compromise if everyone paid taxes at the same percentile.

Let's say 10%. Okay? 10% is probably higher than any of my friends make. Workin' minimum wage could be around 7% or so...

$30,000 a year will get you 10%. that's a very small amount right? well let's just say that EVERYONE pays 10%. Then we would all be evenly pulling our own weight and STILL the people with more money pay more.

let's look at french fry man. french fry man went to work today and made french fries. they were really good french fries, cause he rocks at frying, but more or less he didn't make or break anyone's day. he did, however, give some pretty crappy customer service because he hates life and is resentful that he doesn't know what do in life and is therefore not doing too much.

french fry man makes 20K and his taxes are come April are $2,000.

that's a pretty nice donation and french fry man made a 90% profit. cool?

now. doctor man.

check it.

doctor man couldn't start working out of high school. he had to go to school for 12 more fucking years and establish respectable chunk of loans and credit card debt. doctor man also lost some of the best years of his life (late teens and twenties) because he was was working his ass off.

now doctor man goes to work and SAVES LIVES! you could say he saves the lives that are endangered by greasy french fry man. you could also say he enjoys french fries as lunch time and it's his favorite and only simple time in the day. whatever.

wrap your brain about life saving for a while. have you ever done it? probably not. image on a daily basis.

imagine ripping apart a conscious man's rib cage, reaching, and pumping his heart with your own hands for fourty-five minutes until the ambulence had arrived and surgical room was properly prepped for cardiac surgery.

so. yeah yeah yeah

we all acknowledge doctor man. so instead of $20K we're going fork him over a nice mountain of $250,000K.

that's right. and what do you think after hearing my heart pump story? you think he earns it!

what about when i tell you that, that story is true. that its my dad's story. that my dad has operated on my friends, and your friends, and my friend's parents, and one day your parents. your sick parents. how money is worth saving their lives? don't like your parents? fine. you don't care about anyone but yourself. let's say you get into a car accident (drunk or sober). let's say you're fine but the oncoming car is not. in that car was a girl.

-a girl you're in love with?

-a girl you're best friend just bought an engagement ring for but hasn't proposed to yet?

-a mother of 3 boys?

-a 4 year old girl?

what's it worth to have her not killed? your sorry ass not in jail?

i'd say $250k is WELL DESERVED!

doctor man's even 10% share is $25,000 dollars. that's a lot of money. that's almost more than entire 90% that french fry man is living off of. all that goes to the government. i'd say that's generous! i'd say that's fair! we all pay the same percent and doctor man still pays more.

you happy? sure. until you start thinking. wow. does doctor man really make 250k? is rachel exaggerating? 250,000 dollars year. can you imagine? over $20,000 a month? dude. that's more than i make at starbucks in a whole year. what could you do with 20,000 every single month? now you're jealous. now you're resentful.

forget the fact that doctor man pay mortgage on the office he owns. forget that doctor man pays thousands of dollars a year in continued education so his license doesn't expire. forget that he pays thousands of dollars a year in manpractice insurance. forget that people are constantly finding rediculous ways of taking this man to court. forget that he has financial provides for the families of the assistants, and nurses, and receptionists whose paychecks he issues. forget the fact that he pays a fee to the hospital to keep it operating and use it's rooms.

could you imagine french fry man every putting that much effort into his job? imagine how money and time it takes doctor just to be able to work.

what to know what percentile doctor man pays in taxes in real life?

52%. honestly. 52%.

think about it.

over 1/2.

doctor man has to work until july just to break even! then until about september just to pay for all that crap i mentioned in the previous paragraph. does that mean doctor man only gets to keep 3 months of his income? who else has the patience for that? he makes 3 months last all year and still manages to wake up every single morning and work as best as he knows how for the 9 straight months he doesn't get a paycheck.

my tax bracket went up 2% from 07-09. that means i pay taxes. i pay when all of my friends get money. did i not work just as hard as all of my friends if not more? am i not just at young and trying to support myself? that 2% means no financial aid for rachel. she pays out of pocket for her school. she has to get 2 more jobs in order to pay school and still live.

the point is: fuck you. i will take my friend's more seriously....

as liberals and as democrats once they do something with their lives and prove that they can maintain the same priniples if/when they're successful.

....

Apparently, I'm grumpy when tired.

.. ..

But really. who is more selfish? The man who wants to keep the money he has earned, or the man that wants to take the money another man has earned? Phrase it however you want. that is exactly what it is. It's alot easier to be the man without money and say, "IF i had it, i'd give it. IF i could i'd donate and help. IF it were me i'd understand I wouldn't need that much money."

yeah i'm sure when you imagine making 20k a month your first fantasy was which charity you'd give it to. actions speak louder than words, creep. and so far your actions come down to absolutely nothing but a mere a broken step above "mooching."
