Pistons

It stung way bad to see the Pistons lose.

And Bill Walton talk.

And Manu Ginobili acting all crazy.

And Larry Brown limping off the court.

And my roommates rooting for the Spurs just so they could see me get angry.

The lack of respect the Pistons get and complain about? Yeah...it's TRUE.

I hope they either develop or upgrade their bench just a bit and maybe Brown can get healed "The Green Mile" style and we'll win the next two in a row...one over San Antonio. Major revenge. I like Tim Duncan and their team is well off enough - practically a mirror of the Pistons - but this was OUR year. SO much so that not even C-Webb and Iverson, wheeling out Reggie for his final game, a moronic Shaq and a nearly-unstoppable Wade, blowouts in games 1 and 2 of the Finals, and Robert Horry's clutch shooting could stop them.

But dang, now's the time to remember the most beautiful things come out of suffering. I want that title for the Pistons NOW. But if we thought their determination was good now, if they make this into some real hunger, I feel bad for any team they play next year. Which will happen because the NBA can actually reach a collective bargaining agreement.

Man, I miss the Red Wings. They'd have the Cup by now and the Pistons loss might have been a little less aggravating.

And if I hear my pro sports vocab-challenged roomie call a pick-and-roll or a give-and-go a "switchback" one more time, I'm gonna go all 'Sheed on him. Don't mess.

In other news, I have an assigned parking spot. I've had it since last September. The landlady gave it to me to keep no matter what spot I parked in. However, one day in the last few weeks this midsize Toyota Tacoma pickup truck parked in my spot while I was at work. The thing is, I have a two cushion loveseat between the wall and where the front of the car sits when it's parked. If you try to park any car bigger than mine in there, you'll have your car sticking out the back of the garage. That's exactly what they did. And they parked so badly that it was almost impossible for me to park in the 2nd spot in the garage right next to them. AND YOU COULD FIT 15 CLOWNS IN MY CAR AT THE CIRCUS!!

Then a few days later, I find that not only did they park in my spot again, but they MOVED the loveseat to the 2nd spot in the garage. Which begs the question - why didn't they just park in the empty right-hand spot in the first place? Instead of parking in front of the loveseat and sticking out of the garage/moving the loveseat to the right?

This might make no sense to those who can't visualize it. I'm just sayin...again...don't mess.

I weighed 135 when I moved out here. I'm now 150 because I've gained 15 lbs. of muscle. Don't mess.

Only 18 more days until Shell gets here. I've waited almost 6 months for her, but we've only seen each other for about a month or so out of the last year. Between breaking up last summer and me moving out here last August, we've only seen each other for Senior Tool Time, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. It's amazing though...how could love bloom out of such circumstances?

Well, lots of suffering. And taking risks and getting out of comfort zones. And finally it's about to come together and "make sense."

So it really is true that beautiful things come out of suffering. I just gotta remember that God's the one who does it. Otherwise I'd be hiding in a closet somewhere...afraid of suffering.

Oh man. Doug is coming out here the weekend before Shell does. He's flying out for 3 days and we're gonna have a riot. Listen to his voicemail recording sometime. It's him voicing Yoda. It's perfect. You call. You laugh. Or, he answers the phone and you feel awkward 'cause you just wanted to listen to the recording.

Guys, I'll be home in a month. I miss you all right now. It's time for me to take care of business.

woot woot.
