Yeah, I'm seeing some peeps here saw Sin City.
I saw it Friday. Gotta agree with Bolt and Lewdorf.
Czinder had some good comments on it, too.
I felt it was a solid movie, could have benefitted from more of a sense of justice, but in retrospect some characters had to do what they did (i.e., Hartigan) even if it wasn't the happy ending I was hoping for.
Non-coincidentally, I found Dwight's story to be the best - maybe 'cause he, you know, didn't die. But the best thing was the Tarantino-directed dealy. I mean, here's Dwight and Jackie Boy conversing completely different from any conversation you've ever seen. Watch that head, Jack. Oops, your voice is five octaves higher!
I think the most crazy thing was the very end. You just don't take a guy's junk like that. Satisfying as that may be, I think any other way is better. What a crazy, crazy deal.
I don't think I'd see it again, or buy the DVD, but it was certainly worth seeing in the theater. To like this movie you gotta like flawed heroes, intense violence, hard humor, be able to tolerate some nudity, and like the style. What a ride! But where was the music from the trailer? Silly Sin City.
Definitely not the floating turd I was afraid of. It was more like...dark chocolate...sorta bittersweet. Hmm...I think I'm on to something with the food-related movie reviews...
