well all. we opened xmas gifts on the 19th i believe. pretty early but i didn't have any objections. damian got a yamaha 4-wheeler. to date he still hasn't rode it though. ian got clothes, toys, and a barney doll. HE LOOOVVVEESS barney. he was happy. i got the purse that i wanted and joey got his timberland boots he's been wanting.
on the 22nd we headed up to tennessee. sleepy bear chalet cabin. it took us 13 hours to actually get to the cabin. damian and ian did extremely well. there wasn't much snow where we were staying BUT on the way up we stopped at a few snowy spots. it wasn't snowing but the weather felt like it should have been. our cabin wasn't ready when we arrived at around 7 p.m. so we had to rent a hotel. we stayed at the best western hotel and it was nice. everyone was just tired so anything would have been fine. we did so much in 6 days that it was just crazy. the only day it actually snowed was on christmas morning. that was cool because all the stores were closed and we stayed in the cabin all day. we were supposed to take pictures with the town lights but that fell through. we did take lots and lots and lots of pics though. i'll post them a little later.
besides that, everything is back to normal. long trips don't seem even quite as long as they usually did. the trip overall was very nice. on our way home we stopped at this one hill where we were sledding down. it was cool. who would've guessed that joey's first snow experience would happen with his own two sons. he was so exciting and enjoyed it that much more. we also headed to this indian cherokee outlet in north carolina. nothing much there but it was nice to see.
we finally went to sleep at around 3:30 a.m., wednesday morning. it is true when they say "there's no place like home." our house is small but it felt HUGE when we hadn't stayed in it for about a week. i love it. for this trip joey's job just gave him leave so he didn't take his vacation yet. he should be getting that sometime in march...perfect because the school semester is over in march....so.....ROAD TRIP TO TEXAS. we're heading out to visit AUNTY BRENDA. i'm so excited. trying to convince joey's dada to go but i'm not sure if he'll do that. that's an 18 hour trip. with the kiddies we're probably going to stay somewhere so it won't feel as long. hopefully, joey will really like it and want to move out there earlier. crossing my fingers.
besides that, merry belated christmas and have a happy new year.
THAT'S ALL FOLKS!!!!
