I went to Williamsburg this past weekend. Probably one of the finest visits I've had. It reminds me of my first visit to my older brother's place in Atlanta. I experienced people who are creatively expressive, and truth be told, that's better to me than any monument, site, and probably most activities we strangely gravitate towards when a friend comes into town.
Friday night, got picked up with Ariel by Aminda and her little sister M (it's not short for anything). We dropped Ariel at her parents' and me and Aminda went to see Ultraviolet Ballet at the Meridian. Then we went to Griffin St. for an after party (not with the band, unfortunately, because they went to IHOP, but I did like them). Here at this party, I met Brian K., who has worked on amateur films as I aspire to do. He's also a DJ and art major. We also got to listen to records, which I like just because I always dream of getting a record player and playing records, just to be old-fashioned and stylin', I guess.
Anyway, I'm getting too detailed and not getting to the exciting part. I like lists.
1. There were baby dolls standing on the ceiling of the Griffin St. house. And everything was propaganda. I don't know why, but it was all labeled as such. That house is like an odd but irresistable art gallery.
2. Aminda and I put together the bar she bought. She showed an unusual talent for putting in screws, so I dubbed her the Screw Queen.
3. The belated house warming party for Aminda (and her roommate/tenant Taylor) was successful. I was glad to chat a bit with Emily and CJ, as I don't get to often. And JP was there, and for some reason, JP warms my heart. Minnie Mouse (see #6) didn't make it for reasons I've yet to determine, but I have concluded that they were not good enough reasons.
4. Donald and Daisy Duck (see #6) also didn't make it for no good reason at all. Instead, they utterly avoided this rare opportunity to see me, and stole Ariel (see #6) away from the party (and didn't give her back like they were supposed to). I'm not feeling the love from them.
5. Ariel disappeared from the Burg without a word to us (who kinda would have at least liked to know there was a change of plans). I love the girl, but that's getting a bit much. We are looking into surgically attaching a tracking device to her.
6. I got to see Minnie Mouse (see below in this item) the next day, and she took me to meet her manfriend Brian. Great guy. He let me steal his Beast Infection cd (he's in Beast Infection, btw, and you'll notice I'm listening to the cd now). I'm glad I didn't leave the Burg embittered that she didn't visit with me. You know, people are weird and people aren't perfect. I should be more merciful, even if they don't deserve it. And on that note, the four above mentioned people who pulled some shit, I forgive you and I hope I get to see you again so you can make it up to me with your company. And to be a gentleman, I will shortly erase your names and replace you with the more Disnonymous Donald and Daisy Duck, Minnie Mouse, and Ariel the Little Mermaid. I will probably still get in trouble, but you'd have to go through the effort of coming to Chester to exact my punishment, and that would be worth it.
7. I had a chance meeting with Stacy and Amy, which was brief, but I was happy about it.
8. Me and Aminda went back to Griffin House with alot of alcohol, which Aminda kindly left for our welcoming hosts. I went out walking with three great guys (Jabberwocky, John, and Curt) and we discussed at length how illogical it is for me to believe in God. It was mainly John who argued that point. Me and Jabberwocky mainly talked about art stuff. John was rather adamant, and I enjoyed that. I have dubbed him Evangelical Atheist for his fervor.
9. I was informed by Chancey that the plural of haiku is haiku. Suddenly, my screenname seems a bit silly. Aminda suggested I change it to Haiku Boy, and I decided that perhaps Haiku Boy should be a super villain for Dirty Sock Man to fight. I'm going to keep the disgrammatical "haikus" anyway, just to informitate my legerians of my fondness for destandardity of English.
10. Back in Chester now, and I need to go to the Bee's to visit Alyssa. Bubye.
----------------------------
I really was too harsh on Donald and Daisy, though. I forget sometimes that they're a working family now getting older faster than I am (as I have aspects of adolescence because I reside with my parents and have not chosen a career). So naturally parties with a bunch of strangers isn't going to be so apealing as it was years ago. Plus they don't drink, which is actually preferable to me, since I think substance-dependent parties are for the weak-minded. There were a few at Aminda's who abstained, and I enjoyed their company just the same. I abstained at Griffin St. most of Friday night, and that was a major highlight event. I'm rambling. I'll stop now.
