Just for you, Chris.
Megan and me with the sun in our eyes.
Homecoming kicked ass. Actually, it was probably only the second dance I've actually had fun at. I was pretty much gone all day Saturday going to various sporting events. At 4 i went over to Megan's to take pictures and whatnot. Of course, she wasn't ready when i got there, but i chatted with her dad and the rest of my class for a while before the pictures. It was really sunny out, so we squinted in pretty much every picture. Then Megan's mom told me that i could take her car, which was excellent because its much better than my mom's van, which we were going to take.
Joey and Whitney (Megan's little brother and his date, who is also Megan's and my friend) came with us to eat at the T n T. I was glad we didn't go with the rest of our class because they're boring and fake. This person who works there is Megan and Whitney's friend, so she made all of us Jack's and cokes. We talked about all kinds of stuff during dinner. It was cool because i hardly ever get to hang out with Megan and Whitney. They are very fun people. Dinner was good, and afterwards we went to the boatlanding which is a homecoming tradition. All of the other seniors had already left, so we just sat in the car and smoked until a policeman came.
The DJ at the dance was very good. He is young and hip so he likes good music. He also didn't play too much shitty rap, and he did play Golddigger by Kanye West :). It seems that the older I get, the more fun I have at dances. I dont know why, but it's probably just because my class is the oldest ones there or somthing like that. The grand march was lame as usual, but i saw Chris and some other various Kingsfordians there, so that was cool.
We still didn't know what was going on after the dance, so we talked to everyone and found out that our class was going to Bret's which is lame. And the football players already had decided that none of them were drinking... boo. We decided to go to Chubbs's house to see what was going on there, so we all got changed and headed over there. Larry had a barrel out by his house so we went there. We arrived to about four people standing around a campfire drinking. They were Beav, Matt, Larry, and some other people I don't know. Nate and Lindsay were also there, which was weird because Nate is, well, Nate. And he was even smoking a cigarette. More people eventually showed up and it turned out well. At some point Larry and Beav grabbed a huge dead tree and a rusty mattress box spring and threw them on the fire, I'm not sure why. (note to self: Bud Light is kinda nasty.)
At about 3:00 AM the cops showed up so everyone ran. Megan, Larry, Matt, and I all ran in the same direction. We eventually found an old logging road that we followed. We were trying to make it to Larry's house, which is a few miles away. Eventually the said logging road was overcrowded with trees and bushes so we just kinda kept walking in the direction Larry thoguht was right. We were using cell phones as flashlights, and i wanted to save my battery, so i didn't use mine. Because of this, i couldn't not see shit. I was the last one in the group, because i didn't want Megan to go last, because that wouldn't be very nice. I have large bumps and bruises on both shins from running into things, and lots of cuts from those damn trees. At one point we thought we were finally coming up on the road. We walked up the little hill, to the clearing only to find a huge marsh. Noone knew where we were, so we decided to try to go around it. Larry was using Megan's cell as a light as he fell up to his head into the watery marsh. Her phone stopped working after that. We had already been out in the woods for about an hour, and now he was completely wet. It was about 30 degrees. After that we decided to avoid any further water experiences. We went back into the woods, pretty much going in a big circle. We could hear the highway, so we tried going parallel to that to find the road we were searching for. At this point I think we started to realize that we were seriously lost and that it was fucking cold.
After about another hour of walking we get a phone call from Beav. We told him to honk the horn on his Explorer so we could try to find him. We could hear it fine, but it seemed to keep getting further away even though we were walking toward it. There was also a train horn going off somewhere so we were quite confused. To make a long story short, we just kept walking until we came to a clearing. We could see the entire clearing lit up. Matt walked ahead a little bit, and saw that it was the sherriff. We sat there for at least a half hour waiting for the cop to leave. My feet were going numb from a combination of being frozen and sitting in the same position for a long ass time. The whole time we could hear Beav still honking in the distance. Eventually we saw more headlights pull up to the clearing. Someone got out of a car and told the cop who was still out in the woods. They told the cop about Matt and Larry, so they immediately went to the clearing. The cops would have eventually had to send out a search party, and that wouldn't be cool. When they got to the cars, the yelled back to Megan and me, still hiding in the woods, to come out and we wouldn't get anything. We left the tapper in the woods and went. I gave Lance (the cop, whom everyone knows, so it's cool) my name and birthdate. We then told him that Chuck (someone at the party) was still hiding somewhere in the woods. I don`t think that anyone got any MIP's because only a few people had to blow, and they said they were fine. Then Larry, Beav, and I hop into the back of the Explorer and tell them to turn the heat on. Megan's boyfriend said that he was hiding right across from the cop car in the ditch for the last three hours. Then I realized that it was a pretty sweet night compared to sitting in a ditch.
On the way out we saw Kevin Wilson coming the other way in his large flatbed semi/towtruck thing to pick up Chuck's truck. Some time during the night, Amber moved Megan's car to Larry's house, so she was fine. We get to Larry's at about 6 AM and decide to spend the night there, instead of waking up everyone in my house, or sleeping in my freezing car. Larry, Matt, and I stayed up for a while talking about the night and then went to bed. Sleeping on the floor is not very comfortable, so I woke up about three times during the night. The phone also rang like 4 times in the morning, waking me up from a very deep sleep. At around noon Matt brought me back home. All the time my parents thought i was two blocks away at my friend Bret's house. :P
It was a great night, and its good to know that I have good friends who wouldn't just leave me drunk in the woods at 6 AM.
Disclaimer: I probably forgot a billion things. Infact, I left out a part about singing the Blue's Clues mailtime song, but thats a story for another time.
