So I guess now would be a good time for an update.
School nears its end, and I'm pretty excited about it. Each class seems to drag and feels like a waste of time. English is staggeringly easy. Economics is more of an easy A than a class. Business Law is actually difficult and I have a feeling that my grade will be terrible in that class. Business is kinda boring and ironically, History has become more tolerable. Either I'm getting used to the teacher, or he's less of an ass. I can't figure out which.
For English class, we had to write an essay and submit a first draft, correct it, then submit a second draft. The assignment was the most difficult so far, but still easy: choose a controversial topic, take a stand, write 5-6 pages about it. My topic was violence in the media, and it's a lack luster essay. Regardless, I got an A on the first draft (go me). When I went to go make the final adjustments and print out the second copy the day before it was due, I found it difficult to find the computer. Several days before there was a lightning storm that created a surge in the phone line, which disturbed our modem. My dad brought it to the shop to get fixed, brought it home, and it still didn't work properly. Without my knowledge, he brought the computer back to receive more repairs, holding within it the only copy of my essay (and I always back up my files damnit). Luckily I still had the hard copy first draft and was able to spend all of a football Sunday retpying a bad 5+ page paper. BOO LIGHTNING!
As it is inevitable, I must talk about work. My hours have gone down since my last entry; I'm only working approximately 30 to 35 hours a week. That brings me to only 120-140 hours a month, as compared to the 160+ of August, September and October. This may not seem like a lot of hours to the working man, but going to school "full-time" (12 or more hours a week, I have 15) makes for a difficult schedule. I've fully received my promotion to supervisor and feel reasonably comfortable doing it. A couple weeks ago my Operations Manager Melanie asked me if I would work in the Pittsford store at Customer Service for her twin sister Gina, who is the Store Manager there. I was already scheduled 9am-6pm in our store for the day, and the request came in the middle of that shift, somewhere around 12:30pm. I called my parents and they approved, so I left my store early (5pm), loaded my car with transfers, drove to Pittsford, unloaded my car, and clocked in at 5:45pm. I've now worked two stores, and even more impressively, in one day. Also, there was only one opening Manager on a Tuesday Morning, so I volunteered to come in from 7am-9:30pm, then close 6pm-11:30pm. Or did I go in at 3? I can't really remember. This week I'm staying so they can buff and rewax the hardwood floors, so my shift is 6pm-?, they have estimated 2pm but it will likely be later. I have school the next day 8am-1pm and work 4pm-12am. I don't think I'm going to sleep anywhere in there. Eh, as I've heard in one of the new popular rap songs "I can sleep when I die."
My girl situation is phenomenal. I went from several good choices at the beginning of the summer to zero. The few potentials seem not interested which is discouraging. At least I don't have to feel so bad, since I really don't have a lot of time anyway. And my bank account has gone up. The two paychecks I'm depositing Monday are purely bank totaling 940 something dollars. I still feel it'd be nice to spend that on someone nice though. Patience is a virtue, and good things come to those who wait. I guess now isn't the time, but I have a good feeling that might change soon...
I've been at my sister's house for four hours now, and I'm getting quite hungry. I should probably leave before I get too much more hungry. What's exciting is that I'm about to go get some more fast food, which I feel is responsible for my further 5lb gain. This brings my total up to 180lbs, which is a 25lb increase from my days in high school. At least my waist has decreased from they days at RPI.
If you read this, could you leave a comment? Nothing major, even "I did" would be nice. I'd like to know who is reading this, and who may need a personal update. Besides, I like comments, and I have very few. *tear*
Why is there a sad face for hungry?
Until next time.
