Well hello all you livejournal people. It has been some time. And by "some" time I mean, it has been an extended period of this very time of which I speak.
Anyhow, a lot has been going on. I have been back home from UNA for a week now. It's nice being able to eat without paying for it. Also, being back home, yet not having the constraints of actually LIVING here is quite nice too. I can come and go pretty much whenever, within some reasonable boundaries. Thus, I spend lots of time with Cheri. That's always good. I got my grades from the first semester and this kid has already got a 4.0 in college. Woahhhh. Maybe I can keep this ball rolling and get some mad scholarships or something.
Last weekend I went up to Madison Wisconsin for my second camp of auditions for the Madison Scouts. It was a rough weekend, but somehow I managed to get called back. Collin McNutt must have something in mind for me. I have to practice that way I can prove I can live up to his expectations, because otherwise I'm just a dumbass who went to a drum corps way out of his league. Im practicing, though. I'm practicing a lot. I want to make it.
Christmas is in a few days. It's weird how the older I get, the less excited I am about presents and stuff. These days I really just observe it as an important religious holiday, which is what most of America needs to do anyway. I also find it odd how a Christian holiday has just become a some free-for-all, perverse gift exchange holiday for everybody. You don't see the Christians celebrating Chanukah, now do you? White people aren't celebrating Kwanza. So what's the deal? I guess we kind of owe it to ourselves, on the other hand, for having strayed so far away from the original intentions of it. We're supposed to be celebrating the birth of the messiah, instead we're worshipping snow men and some big fat guy in a red suit. What a shame. This all reminds me that I haven't been to church in a while. I don't feel bad about it because I still feel close to God, I just enjoy church. Who knows, maybe I'll go on Christmas.
Anyways, I guess that's about it for now. Being back in Madison has been lots of fun so far. I missed a lot of people. Hopefully I'll get to see some more folks before I have to go back.
