China (White)
1989(?)-2005
We let her go on Saturday. Within the past few days she experienced severe kidney failure, and we didn't want to subject her to the trauma of kitty dialysis or a transplant or anything like that. She lived a long and happy life for nearly 16 years with
lucrezia18, including the past two with both of us. We miss her terribly, but that's only when we're not being distracted by:
Dolly (Madison) and Eleanor (Roosevelt)
(left to right)
Not waiting around, we visited the
Peninsula Humane Society and brought these two girls home. They're 7 months old, were brought in as strays, and were probably litter-mates. We wanted to get a pair who could amuse each other when we're not around, and these two demonstrated that the minute we saw them together in their cage. They're still getting used to their new digs but have already picked out some favorite spots, including the brand-new cat bed pictured here. We're also starting to bolt down everything that we don't want to end up on the floor, as of course they are kittens. In just their first night they've already removed CDs from the shelves, dropped a scrubbing brush in the bathtub, turned on the answering machine, and typed a paragraph's worth of "]" characters on my computer. Oh, the joy of being a cat person.
