Ok, so Steven asked me yesterday when I was going to get back to the business of telling the story of our favorite hero, Craptacula. I'm off work. I have to the time. So I told him I would try to get on it today. Unfortunately, it's a beautiful day, and I decided to go have lunch with my wife. So maybe tomorrow...

Anyway, I was reading this book last week, "Calling Bernadette's Bluff", by Dale McGowan. Not a great book, but pretty good. However, McGowan's protagonist said something in this book that made me stop for a moment. The words resonated with me as if I could have been the speaker if I were more articulate. So I'll give this quote today, and hopefully more Craptacula tomorrow.

"Once you set aside the mythology, you look at the implications of its absence. You look at the world for the first time as it really is -- and it's this intoxicating, beautiful thing. So much more of a miracle without some mystical sorcerer at the helm. You bathe in that freedom and wonder for awhile -- and then it hits you. There's this huge feeling of responsibility that sets in. No divine safety valve in this life, no escape clause into the next. We're responsible for creating the kind of world we want. Every moment suddenly become more precious, more fantastic, when you know this life is the only one. Every thing and every moment is lit with significance and incredible rarity. And your're struck with an overwhelming desire to make the most of it -- to do it right"
