so i never got around to updating this yesterday...i don't think. well sarah called me from dublin yesterday. made me smile a lot. :) in my quantitative business tools class, he pushed our test back till two weeks after spring break, so that's a good thing. i dropped in at the ucf radio station last nite b/c one of the djs, sean, asked me to do so. so i did. he wasn't there when i got there. he was in a limo with simon from american idol. he was supposed to be coming in to the station, but they hit construction traffic on 50 and ended up doing a phone interview...madness followed suit. he was sooooo much worse on the phone last nite than he is on american idol. he was mean, obnoxious, and rude...and all we could do was laugh. andy, sean's co-host, played some songs on the show while simon was on the phone so he could comment about the bands...he said that when he was young, he was witness to his grandfather being sucked into a large steel fan and ripped into little pieces by the fan blades and that the sound of those parts of his grandfather hitting the ground was more pleasant than the nappy roots. he said that he didn't know how paula abdul got a career in music, that "kelly osbourne should just shut up", that weezer is boring and unoriginal. the only artist he liked was micheal jackson, but only through the 80s b/c he was the say all-end all of pop music and nothing else good has come out in the past decade. no joke. it was fantastic. we were all suppressing laughter in the studio. he hung up on us twice, insulted the djs, ucf, the radio station, orlando, construction, etc. it was so great. the first time he hung up, when we cut to a song, we called sean on his cell phone, and apparently simon had actually thrown the phone at him when he hung up! sean got back to the station right before the show signed off for the nite and he just had this glazed over look on his face like he had just been traumatized by the whole incident. we had some good laughs, and one of the guys in the studio had been recording the show at his apartment...so hopefully i'll have the audio to the interview. it was great. i wish it could've happened again!
