[SLO Area] NVC Group

Mar 10, 2009 22:02

Most of us have been educated from birth to compete, judge, demand, diagnose - to think and communcate in terms of what is "right" and "wrong" with people.  At best, the habitiual ways we think and speak hinder communciation, and create misunderstanding and frustration in others and in ourselves.  And still worse, they cause anger and pain, and may lead to violence. Without wanting to, even people with the best of intentions generate needless conflict.

Hello Amigos,

I'll be starting a 13 week NVC group sometime on the week of March 29th through April 4th.  This will be a no experience necessary group, starting from the basics and going though advanced techniques.  I'm setting the members for the group at 10 people maximum and 4 alternates (in case one of the 10 must bow out).  I am looking for people that are willing to meet once a week for 13 weeks or so.  The group will get together for 2 hours a week.  I will be placing an order for the accompanying text "Nonviolent Communication: A Language of Life" the week before the class starts for $12.21 per copy.  This book is highly recommended for anyone that would like to attend, but isn't required.

If you are interested, please go to http://whenisgood.net/Lciun8 and click on the hours that you are available to begin the group (my hours are represented on the chart).   Group members are selected by when are 10 people are available to meet, and who signs up first.  I'm expecting that the class will meet on the same day/time each week following the week of 3/29-4/4 for 13 weeks

Please go to http://whenisgood.net/Lciun8 and log the times you are available, even if you've already notified me that you're interested.

Love and respect,

Joel Watkins
