“I’m sorry,” he said. “I’m so sorry.” - heh-heh.

I love the way this is reminding me that at some point in the past I must have read at least a plot synopsis of Beowulf, because it all feels lovely and familiar!

Glad you're enjoying it! I decided to stick to the general plotline of Beowulf and then work the Doctor's story around it, basically because it seemed like the kind of story you could do that to. Of course, I've probably got loads of historical facts wrong, and somewhere, someone will be burning up with rage that I've bastardised their favourite tale! But, I'm glad it's not you! ;)

awww. *hugs everyone* Love how you're treating Grendel. The Time Wraith is a fascinating creation and I do look forward to the next chapter :)

And the Doctor's emotional journey is only just beginning... I don't really know where the Wraith came from, to be honest, it just sort of wandered into my head fully formed and bristling with evil. Of course, now I just wish I could see it come to life on screen... *sigh* Those real Who script-writers have no idea how lucky they are... Glad you're still enjoying it!

Jo, I don't know what took me so long to get reading this, but I've caught up over the past two nights and I'm eagerly anticipating the next chapter!

You've created a very real setting, and the Time Wraith should be canon if it isn't already.

If only "Beowulf" had been like this!

If only Beowulf was like this! It'd make teaching it to Year 7 a hell of a lot easier!

It seems that time is not on either of our sides where fanfic reading is concerned. Personally I'd quite happily give up Real Life to read fanfic all day but alas, such gratuitous activities would not pay the bills. I've been horrendously behind for weeks, to be honest, and it depresses me because I know I end up missing out on great stuff. *sigh*

As for the Time Wraith... I believe there are things called Vortex Wraiths described in one of the New Adventures novels, but I've not actually read them myself. I just quite liked the idea when it flew into my head all those months ago...!

Anyway, I'm babbling like Ten so I shall disappear and just say I'm glad you're enjoying it! :)
