Bright blue eyes were what he remembered most. Some eight years later those eyes still filled his mind, but his smile though shy was quite engaging. Add in the way he moved, talked, just was, and well Daniel was infatuated to say the least, the very least.
It had been eight years since he had met the skinny, nervous, shy, animated, yet totally irresistible boy from Maryland. It was eight years ago Daniel met his other half, the one that would now and forever own his soul, the one person who could make even the worst that much better. And it was eight years ago discovered the meaning of the words true love, though it would take those eight years for it to bloom into something more than a distant dream.
Shattered dreams were what now lay at Daniel’s feet, the dreams of a life with his boy of the haunting bright blue eyes. Yes they had found each other again. Yes the blue boy returned Daniel’s love. They had even married, but that is where the dream died. It was not a lingering death but a quick, though extremely painful one. So there lay Daniel shattered into an infinite number of pieces, his phone ringing, his body bleeding, his heart barely beating. A voice like a dream or was it a nightmare come to life, asking, wondering, is there a way to fix this.
The dream turned to fantasy. The fantasy turned to reality, as those bright blue eyes, now puffy, reddened, and teary came into focus. Soft touches and even softer words made way for the past to be put behind them. A bright blue future lay ahead and a shattered Daniel was put back together.
