Oh, I have to share this with everyone...
(Sent to me in an email from a friend who is a solicitor in London - never let it be said that he takes himself too seriously!)
Lawyer - Doctor _______, before you began the autopsy, did you check for a pulse?
Witness - No.
Lawyer - Did you check for blood pressure?
Witness - No.
Lawyer - Did you check for breathing?
Witness - No.
Lawyer - So, then, is it possible that the subject was alive when you began the autopsy?
Witness - No.
Lawyer - And how can you be so sure?
Witness - Because his brain was sitting in a jar on my desk.
Lawyer - But could the subject have been alive nonetheless?
Witness - It is possible that he could have been alive and practising law somewhere, yes.
