This weekend = enough fun to make a guy want to die.
Which guy? Me, of course.
I met a great girl two weekends ago, and on Friday night we went out with some mutual friends. One of whom was the one who set us up. This is a great idea, by the way... going on a first date with people you both know, if possible. Seriously, the awkwardness level is almost non-exsistant, as opposed to when two people who hardly know each other go out and have to try and talk to each other for two hours and it ends up a disaster. Not that this has ever happened to me.
Anyway, the friend who hooked us up didn't really have to twist our arms or anything. The two of us were more than ready and totally willing to go out with each other. Well, I know I was, anyway, and I hear that she was, too. The matchmaker told me that when she suggested the idea of setting her up with me, her response was, "DO IT!"
She's gorgeous, sweet, funny, charming, well-mannered and a good dancer. I don't think I've ever danced on a first date before, not having the opportunity, but with a great live band and a cute girl tugging my hand with a look on her face that seemed to say "you know you want to," it was easy for me to be in a dancing mood.
Eventually, our friends left and we were by ourselves in a roomful of people. We stayed until the bar closed, but neither one of us were ready to say good night, so she suggested Denny's, to which I fully agreed sounded like a good idea.
We had some eggs and some sandwiches and after a few hours I dropped her off. I didn't get home until after four. For those with no concept of time, that means I had a really good time and didn't want the night to end. Also, I don't kiss and tell.
She came over the next night to a ghost story telling shindig that I was having. She said it was going to be hard for her to come, as she had several other things to do that day, but she managed to make it, which made me nothing less than ecstatic. She did have to leave early, but I was really, really, really, really happy to see her show up. She said to "call her," so I guess I'd better! Think I will tonight, actually. Word.
