I spent about 21 hours in bed between yesterday and today. Ouch. First hangover of 2006, and last too, I hope.

Having read ms_livia's post, I'm trying to remember who first came through our door after midnight NYE, and how that might affect my luck this year. I think it was a chap known as 'largerjim' from the Springfield House yahoo group, who was about 6 foot and quite wide and wearing a black shiny corset. He was jolly nice actually. What does that foretell for 2006 I wonder?

Had a grand party. Met lots of nice people from the yahoo group who came round, and now probably think I'm a drunken loon. Ah well. New people I now know in the building, along with the aforementioned largerjim, are a pair who have set up their own publishing house for comic books, a nurse called Frank from Gt Ormond St, and a nice chap called tim whose party ernieland and I gatecrashed at some point in our explorations.

It was lovely to catch up with some friends, and especially nice to see myspecialagent and thee_rockhunter who made the trip up from Brighton to visit. Apologies for playing 'back to life' three times in a row.

Today I can happily report that Sainsbury's are on to a trick selling Innocent Detox smoothies for half price, and that oven cleaner stinks! The downside of being a happy domestic goddess roasting lots of nice joints is having a filthy oven that was setting off the smoke alarm. So it's now coated in smelly Mr Muscle foam of doom, which I shall have to go wash off soon. Pah. Mike is making his super special lasagne tonight! Yay!

Resolutions so far:
- health: Started the year with a fry up, not a good start. But, Mike has fixed my bike, and I've bought porridge and seed mix and low fat yoghurt, and lots of fruit, so diet should be ok. Not drunk any alcohol since waking up on 1st jan, and have had plenty of water so far.
- glamour: NYE effort quite good. Since then been mainly wearing pyjamas. Needs improvement.
- niceness: good show of building camaraderie in evidence at NYE party thanks to yahoo group. Have recycled plenty of cans and bottles. Smiled at woman in sainsbury's today but not sure if she noticed.

Happy new year everyone and to all those I missed!

nyr watch, new years eve
