I'm off to see Spamalot soon, which is nearer my place of work than my friends' so I can't leave yet but it's past 6 and no more worky for me. No no.
Here's a few little things I thought of posting at the time.
- A Sunday exploring near home revealed a crazy castle building concealing a
climbing centre, two lovely big reservoirs with an escape-from-it-all path around the edge, and a sweet little community orchard, all right near home. I'll add a pic of the reservoirs later. So much space! Note to self - remember to come blackberrying here next September.
- I'm enjoying quite a few blogs at the moment, including
this,
this and
this.
- I am very proud of my little
pointy kitty that I finished making this week. I left my camera at Anna's but I will add a piccy here later. It's the best thing I've made so far. I have bought big jars of pickling vinegar for chutney went looking for recycled card and am all set for lots of making action in preparation for Christmas. Potato printed or screen printed cards, that is the question
- I can't decide whether to apply for the
Civil Service Fast Stream or not. All rational thoughts say yes, but somehow I can't get excited about it. I feel the need to do something more creative, although that's less sensible.
- Planning is underway for a Scandinavian themed Christmas party for work. I'm trying to come up with some simple ideas for games and a good costume to wear. Ski lodge chic? An elf? A viking? A moose?
- Adam and I went to the Kennel Club's Discover Dogs show at Earls Court on Sunday. Oh my gosh there were so many cute dogs there! We went round talking to lots of enthusiastic breeders, trying to work out what breed might suit us. Top of the list is a
miniature schnauzer. We are very keen. Oh so keen. We even decided if we get a boy dog it will be called Herbie. A key point though is whether the brief conversation Adam had with one of the directors at his work about wanting to get a studio dog might lead to anything. That would be a perfect scenario. A little schnauzer would be more appealing to an office full of blokes than a chihuhua I'm sure. How could they resist? Otherwise I fear we are just out at work for too long and it wouldn't be fair. Dogs and jobs: pretty incompatible.
