Poem: Western Justice

Western Justice

Country roads
and heavy loads
horse stalls and hay bails

Mother Goose
a Hangman's Noose
monsters and fairy tales

Children play
Dead men pray
playgrounds and jails

Preachers preach
jailers teach
there's another lesson tomorrow

Lessons learned
hangin's earned
ain't no time for sorrow

Jailbird sings
his new collar swings
he ain't got time to borrow

Last words said
soon to be dead
Redemption's long gone

Western Justice
