My Usual Excuse

Jul 20, 2008 21:41

It's been a long time. One might say, probably too long.

Nothing super exciting happened today. I got up and did the usual morning thing. Eggos and eggs for breakfast, read a little more of the Talisman, showah, shave, the works.

Jeni had a massage at 11:30am and when she returned from that we left to get some tissue paper, the kind you use to wrap presents, and a little bite to eat. We stopped at Smoothie King for drinks and Burger King for a small snack, as I had planned a lavish meal for this evening, marinated chicken, noodles and Hawaiian rolls.

Upon returning home, I begun laundry and cleaning while Jeni enjoyed, but does anyone really, the movie Daredevil. Jeni had another massage gig at 6:30pm, so after she left I decided that I would mow and edge the lawn. During the edging process I ran out of weed whacker string and I, as I’ve done many times before, replaced the whacker string. I ran into a snag however, when replacing the string which caused me to halt my whacking in mid-whack. A small piece of the weed whacker became dislodged from the housing and I lost the piece in the grass.

Unfulfilled, I decided that I would go play with Lily, our dog out in the backyard and at the same time assess and get a handle on the weed situation. Unfortunately the weed situation was out of my hands and I ended up having more fun with Lily, than beautifying my back yard.
Back inside the house I decided to get in touch with my parents who are currently in the midst of traveling and are at this moment in Snohomish. We had a nice conversation which concluded with them gushing about how they saw the 501st, and I’m assuming specifically Garrison Titan, at the Kla Ha ya Days parade. From what my parents said Garrison Titan was there in force, which made me happy and a little jealous.

The dinner I had planned for tonight was a fine presentation of my advanced culinary skills. I like to call it the box and packet method. As always the rolls were the belle of the dinner ball. Boy, I sure do know how to heat bread!

We were finishing up the evening watching Star Trek 6 the Undiscovered Country but now the girlfriend-in-law and her friend are sucking up my Jeni time so I don’t really know what the rest of the night holds. Odds are, I might tell you tomorrow, maybe…
