Trigger Finger

                                                           Trigger Finger- by Joe Kibler

The gun barrels the pulse and I’m the bullet,
I’m too close to numb to feel alive,
When I slowly start to drift, I say,
Pull the trigger, take me away,

Let me see what life is like

As I pass through the wind I watch all go by,
From children who weep, to mothers who cry,
To sideshow freaks and parasites,
To veterans who fought to free now fighting to survive,

On the street,
There all on the street,
Waiting for me to see,
To see what numb is like,

I see their eyes, shadows and tears,
They gaze at me as they display there fears,
I cannot look away,
I cannot look away,

I have no more questions,
They’ve fulfilled my answers,
No longer will I question, if I feel alive,
With my finger off the trigger and the gun put away,
I can finally rest, but those on the street will always be the same,

So tell me you’re numb,
Because I know you’re the same,
You’ve felt non-existent,
And I’ve felt your pain,
But one thing to remember,
When you want to say,
Pull the trigger take me away,
Is there’s some one out there,
Worse off then you today,
So put your gun away,

You can see what life is like

life, suicide, death
