Well, N wound up going to the concert after all because I couldn't get anyone to go in her place. TV on the Radio started the show and were okay. They were kinda like a bluesy experimental type band.
Bauhaus were great. There were a few kids standing near us that had no clue who Bauhaus was. This one girl kept saying, "They're old. That singer shouldn't be trying to take his clothes off because he's old." Daniel Ash was all glammed out. David J was his usual stoic self. Peter Murphey was very dramatic. I swear it looked like he was wearing a girdle. They played two new songs called Andrenaline and Endless Summer of the Damned. I thought they were saying Endless Summer of the Dead, but it was listed on the Bauhaus message board as Damned. They ended the show with Telegram Sam and Ziggy Stardust. I believe it was the first time they played those songs on this tour. However, I found out the next day that they played Bela in San Antonio.
After Bauhaus was over,
anise called me and we met up by the refreshment stands. It was great to see her and meet James. We need to hang out with them more.
We found a couple of seats at the back of section 102 row z. We asked two kids if anyone was sitting in the empty seats. They said no and that they were about to move down to them before we got there. After awhile, we explained that we were in the pit for the first two bands. We had to get out before NIN started because N is pregnant and it was getting crowded. They asked if we would sell them our wristbands for $40. I said sure and we made their night. So, all worked out well.
NIN was amazing live. Songs that don't sound they great on cd were blowing me away. It has to be the energy of the crowd that makes the music so much better. Trent looked really buff. I would liked to have been in the pit, but I would have been worrying about N the whole time.
