Alan's insane project # i have no idea
Obviously three tools just isn't enough for me. Apparently I think I'm too good for tools. Because I concocted this crazy idea of building myself a phillips head screwdriver in addition to the required flathead one. At first it was just one of those wacky ideas. You know, like "I should learn to unicycle", or "we should do a cross-country hike", or "let's go skydiving over fall break". The thing is though, this school has this can-do ambiance to a certain extent. I know it really doesn't seem like it sometimes because people are swamped with work so much, but random ideas like those really do come to pass much more here than in my experience elsewhere.
And so the crazy idea went to musing about how to do it. And of course, when you think you've come up with a way you have to try it. And if you try it and it's working, there's no WAY you can stop there! So I have the beginnings of my phillips head screwdriver. It may take me another 4 hours to finish, it may take me another 8. It all depends on how much I obsess over the head.
