If you want your computer to run smoothly, do NOT, under any cicumstances, run MatLab, Maple, Firefox, AIM, Word, and Kaleidagraph all at the same time. ESPECIALLY not if you're having MatLab and Maple both compute functions so nasty that Maple takes 50ish seconds just to make one plot. On the easy ones. We're talking a function of t where t is in the limits of integration, and the integrand is something like ((sin(N*theta)/sin(theta))^2)*(sin(theta)/theta)^2.
Ya, it's fun watching programs eat memory in real time. In a single run I saw MatLab jump from like 60 MB memory used to 250.
In other news, it's frustrating not being able to do the analysis you want to because of lack of knowhow about programs. Tech report anyone?
