It's been a long time since I've posted any sort of update that hasn't maybe been a random tweet - so here goes I guess:
- I just had an appendectomy on August 24th. After my initial visit to the hospital in March where I had the GI bleed, the doctors determined that I suffered from Chronic Appendicitis and needed to have my appendix removed. Wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be - I was out of the hospital the next day, and back to normal within a week. I only have a little 1.5" scar on my abdomen to show for it! I do however get four weeks off of work! This summer has been the summer of surgery though! At the end of June, I had my four wisdom teeth removed! I'll be happy if I don't need another sedative, IV drip or Tylenol 3 for a good long time!
- I spent this last weekend (the Labour Day one), in Osoyoos, BC with my best friend and my best friend's boyfriend - relaxing at his parent's place! Osoyoos is a wonderful place, as those who know it can attest to! It's a town in the Southern Okanagan region - which is an extension of the Sonoran Desert - so it's very hot,and very dry! The town is situated on Lake Osoyoos - which straddles the border, and is considered to be the warmest lake in Canada. The region is known for producing exceptional wine, and orchard fruits - and I took full advantage of both! Visited 6 wineries, and came back with 15 bottles of wine - all white, cause that's what I prefer. Spent the rest of the time just relaxing, and enjoying the view - as my friend's parents live in a gorgeous house directly on the lake, with a private beach which we used to have a bonfire and make smores the last night being there! In addition to the wine - I came home with a 10 lb. flat of Nectarines, a 10 lb. flat of Gala Apples, and several bulbs of fresh, organically grown garlic!
- Work is work. For those of you that don't know, I co-manage the busiest Starbucks in Canada - and this summer proved to be no exception. In fact - there's a licensed store across the street from my store, that just closed it's doors two days ago! I can't wait to see what a lift in business that brings us. We're midway through a renovation to help us deal with the influx in customers - more registers, and a better configured store makes Brandon a happy barista! I've been told I'll be going for promotion soon - so I'm hoping they stick to their guns there! :-)
- I'm just over a month away from turning 30! Where should I go to celebrate? Anybody have any suggestions?
