Extra Credit Paper #2
I have been having trouble thinking of interesting topics for an essay. It is hard for me to write only one page. In order to counter my lack of thoughts, I decided that I will have some fun with this paper. I asked my friend Kevin to give me some random words. For each word he gives me, I will write a paragraph about it. I am over looking the list right now. This should be interesting.
Fire Alarms: I am not sure how many fire alarms exist inside my house in Holden, MA. I do know, however, that sometimes the fire alarm near our bathroom will go off if someone opens the door after a shower. All of the steam sets it off. In my dorm building, Maple Ridge, there was this really loud, weird beep coming from down the hallway. My roommate and I couldn’t figure out what it was. It turns out it was the fire alarm beeping. How strange. Eventually the beeping stopped. I guess that means they fixed it.
Tortilla Chips: This morning my friend made nachos for breakfast. I thought that was gross, but I ate some anyway. They were pretty good actually. He heated them up in the microwave to melt the cheese. I made a sandwich in the microwave: cheese, eggs and ham. At Denny’s they called that the ‘Moons Over My Hammy.’ Very creative.
Light Emitting Diodes: Light Emitting Diodes, also know as “LEDs” are used mainly as flashlights. Someone I know has a LED flashlight that goes on his head. It can switch from white light to red light. He wore it when we broke in to the abandoned hospital in Rutland.
Tires: What can I say about tires? Or better yet, what can’t I say about tires? They’re black and round, usually inflated with air and help our cars drive. Once I drove over a piece of plywood and popped my tire. My parents were really angry because apparently I am supposed to be able to notice a nail on the ground from my driver’s seat. They weren’t even as mad when I crashed the car. They were really angry about that popped tire.
Zip Lines: When I was really young I used to go a baby sitter after school. Her name was Tina. She had a zip line in her woods, but I was too short to reach it. So we set up a picnic table next to one of the trees that the zip line was connected to. I would climb up the table and jump off while holding on to the zip line handle. I would try to push myself off the other tree hard enough that I could make it back to the picnic table. I could do that for hours. It was really fun. I miss Tina’s house. She had a Sega and a Super Nintendo.
Bendy Straws: I am going to be honest, but I prefer bendy straws over the normal straws, mainly because they are wider, and I can get more liquid out of them. I remember this time my mom gave my sister a bendy straw, and I just got a boring, normal straw. So I took her straw and put soap over the mouth end. When my sister tasted the soap she cried and I was glad. My mom was so furious that she actually put a bar of soap in my mouth.
In closing, Kevin can think of some really interesting and random words.
