Jon Voight vs Christopher Walken -- Round Two (Plus A Couple Of Other Clickies)

Jun 10, 2009 21:42

You might remember that a little while ago I made a short sharp rant to the effect that Christopher Walken was so much more cool than Jon Voight because Christopher Walken made this film clip while Jon Voight made this movie.

The song is one of the Fatboy Slim songs I like the most, especially because of the line walk without rhythm, and it won't attract the worm. That is of course a reference to Frank Herbert's Dune, which is the first science fiction book I remember reading apart from Jules Verne. Very cool.

The movie, if you dared to click, is Pearl Harbor, and members of my family jokingly call it my "favourite movie", as I never pass up a chance to mercilessly mock it. I'm of the opinion that it is one of the worst movies ever made. Seriously. It just... kind of shits on history.

But that's beside the point. So far it's 1-nil, in Christopher Walken's favour. Oh, what's that you say? "Jon Voight has made a rather paranoid-sounding rant about Obama"? I guess we'll call that 2-nil. I will give Voight a well-deserved point for Midnight Cowboy, which is one of my favourite movies.

So I think at this point I can safely end the scoring at 2-1. Walken wins again, by virtue of his complete non-arseholery. And the fact that he knows what acting is about. AND he was in Pulp Fiction! I rest my case.

Today I was also amused by the story of the shopping trolley spies, the The MP3 Experiment, and these scientific tattoos.
