been wanting to write about this for awhile, and its a semi-life update... or more of life update related... its been really getting to me, so i'mma start with a story
back when i was working at fry's, probably closing in on a year, this iraqi young woman starts working there and i remember clearly the introduction we had. the office supervisor introduced her to me and it went exactly like this
"Hi my name is Fereshteh, and i know thats hard to say, so you can call me angel"
"........ ......... how about i call you fishy"
It was kinda dickish of me to nickname her fishy, which i never called her unless she was being friggin' weird. But i was so thrown back and kinda enraged that someone i just met would discount my intelligence and tell me that her name is too hard for me, so i have the privilege go call her some kinda weird cutesy endearing nickname. I think i wrote about this in here, years ago. Though, in her defense, i believe Fereshteh is farsi for angel.
And now... Every day. Every god damn day. I deal with this same exact shit.
"oh hey, i see you w-
oh right i should mention. So... I work as a third party kashrut (kosher...ness) onsite inspector. The pay is pretty solid and the actually work itself is laughable.
Anyway. Right. So just about every day or so, someone introduces themselves to me and it goes the same exact way, every time.... with one or two exception
"oh hey, i see you walkin' around lookin' at stuff, my name is Jerry"
"oh hey, my name is mordechai"
"what?"
"mordechai"
"what?"
"mordechai"
"what?"
its like its a comedy bit. And i eventually just resign and say "mike"
"oh well why didn't you say that in the first place?! lolol"
or "thats too hard for me to say, you gotta give me a nickname"
Guess what dick? Thats my name. Friggin' learn it. Hooooly shit.
And to this day. One of the women i work with every single shift will not say my name but rather scream my job title when she needs me. Six months i've been there. And whats her excuse? "i'm bad with names and your name is hard to say"
Man... if i was one of these SJW i would have run out of triggers. Just- i have no more triggers left to be triggered.
But the work is nice, its easy, i enjoy it most of the time. Theres a lot of downtime so i bring a book. its really a sweet job.
Anyway, Our one year anniversary was a couple months ago and to celebrate the anniversary my wife was nice enough to birth our child. Though i won't be posting any of the pictures on lj, or anywhere else on the internet, i should at least post a picture from the wedding, like i said i
would(n't) do in my last post.
alright well, photobucket is being difficult, so i'll get to that later.
