Dear Cityrail
Look, I know how hard it must be to run a freaking rail network. I mean you struggle to keep trains clean, on time, and safe. But there is no excuse for the way you treat customers. I have listed a few ways that your rail system could be made better.
1. Priority seating
We all know everybody wants a seat on a train. it's really obvious. sure, frail old war veterans and pregnant women get seats, but there have been times when I have had to stand for three hours on a trip from sydney to Kiama for no good reason. I think the further you are going. the longer you are going to be on the train for, the more legally entitled you should be to a seat.
2. More standing options
seriously, we need to be able to hang on to something and not be in peoples way. put more hangings on the roof, seriously. It's rediculous
3. rubbish bins
4. Get some employees that give a crap about their job
I know it must be demanding to keep a train moving on those rails that actually prevent any free movement, but is there any REASON train drivers have to miss stations, leave before the train is full, and most painfully, arrive and leave a good 20 minutes late on some of the remoter lines, seriously, get this looked at
5. transit officers are not police officers. stop trying to pretend they are
Look, you spend 2 weeks studying to become a rail cop. an intensive two weeks, yes, but two weeks. you spend 3 years studying to become a cop. Cops save lives EVERY DAY. A cop is legally allowed to carry handcuffs, pepper spray and a fucking gun. A cop will hit you with his big fucking night stick if you fuck him around. which one do YOU think i respect more?
