When Logan spotted Joe, he casually pulled away from Neil, wandering over to get a better look at the man's beat up appearance. He looked pretty fucked up, like he'd just been in a fight, but that didn't stop Logan from saying something light rather than show his concern.

"Rough sex last night? You really need to teach those girls not to hit so hard," he said.

Logan pulls away, and I roll my eyes behind his back, staying behind and watching. It's not really that I don't like the guy-

Okay, nevermind, it is that I don't like the guy.

Whatever. "That's not that look of somebody that had fun last night."

"Fuck you," Joe said simply, not even paying attention to whoever the hell it was Logan was with. It was dark out, too dark to really see him without stepping closer anyway and he wasn't fucking interested.

"Rough bounty," he corrected, addressing Logan and then tugging down the collar of his shirt to show the wound on his shoulder. "Little bitch got away and that didn't make some people very happy."

"Little bitch? ...You got shot by a girl?" Logan asked with a laugh, turning to Neil with a grin before returning his attention to Joe.

"Can't win 'em all, huh, Joe?" I say, stepping up beside Logan with a smirk.

"Yeah, I got shot by a fucking girl," Joe practically snarled, his gaze finally going to the guy that was with Logan. And it just fucking figured, didn't it? "You bringing the wife along now?" he asked, eyes still on Neil, although he was addressing Logan again.

"He's not my wife, so bite me," Logan shot back. "He's a friend. A good friend... who I enjoy having sex with."

He looked over at Neil hoping that had been the right answer, and offered the other boy a playful wink.

I snort out a laugh, rolling my eyes and trying not to look to amused at that fucking wink of his.

"Gee, Logan, that's so sweet," I tease, flashing Joe a smirk.

"You two know each other," Joe said simply, touching the bruise under his jaw and wincing slightly. He wasn't even in the mood to give them shit about it, he was just fucking sore and he wanted a fucking drink. Or a soft bed. Maybe both.

"Intimately," Logan assured Joe. "I'm under the impression you do too. Tends to be a theme with Neil."

"Not as well as he knows you," I say to Logan, and there's no reason to get pissed off by what he said, 'cause it's the fucking truth, right?

For a moment Joe just looked at Neil, then smirked and looked back at Logan. "Could be. I don't remember." He remembered and it was obvious, but he was in a shitty mood and was more than willing to take it out on anyone who crossed his path.

"Whatever," Logan muttered. "So why'd the chick shoot you anyway? She give you that black-eye too?"

I should be used to that. Being dismissed as just another one of many, but even though I know he's bullshitting, my jaw clinches and I look away. It wouldn't matter if it was just me here, and I'd have some pretty choice words to throw back in his face, but with Logan standing next to me listenin', it's a struggle not to just turn around and leave.

"Your wife looks pissed," Joe pointed out, smirking a little at Neil. "And no, she didn't give me the black eye. She shot me because I was trying to take her in. I got the black eye because I let her get away."

"Quit calling him that," Logan muttered, looking uncomfortable. "So, what did she do anyway? I mean, why were you looking for her?"
