damn legs, always the first thing to go

well, the days have gone by and i handed in a HUGE amount of work today and had a fun little presentation about Old Kingdom sculpture. if anyone would like to read the finished work of that paper i can hook you up with the final draft. maybe someone would like to read the stuff i complain about...kristen is a brave one 'cause she read it before i was done and actually thought it was pretty cool. truth is, i really started enjoying the paper around the tenth page. that's when it finally started clicking with my brain and movin' with the soul

that's pretty darn metaphysical for a history major...

so i road my bike today and it was wonderful. i went to the library and road around by the rahway river in cranford. there's a nice little spot there near the old mill. the mill was constructed...i think in 1756...that year stands out in my mind for some reason...but i know for sure it was the 18 century. it's the last mill left on the rahway and there are ducks and birds running around. i even think i saw a goldfinch. i thought the bird flying toward me was a sparrow, but when it flapped i saw a flash of yellow. i could have just been feeling the effects of exhaustion and eyestrain

some irresponsible people have thrown lots of trash around in the more wooded part of the little nature park. i was upset to see such disregard for the earth and the creations that live on it. animals aren't meant to play with things made out of plastic and styrofoam. i found a blue plastic bag blowing around and picked up alot of the trash and deposited the whole mess in a proper receptacle on the sidewalk. it's my hope that just one person will walk through there and say 'hey, this looks nicer' and enjoy there time in the woods a bit more. it's so important to me as a Christian to care for the creation around me. ever since i was a little girl i couldn't just leave things lying around on the ground outside. i know landfills are the coolest thing in the world, but it is better to put waste in a concentrated area than have it strew throughout the streets.

tomorrow's earth day. everybody plant something and go for a walk. not only does it save gas and money, but it's good for you. much less stressful than driving. just a bit slower.

well, i've got to get back to paper land. i'm on the second to last paper of the semester!!!

1 more day 'til lila downs! : )
