My kiddos are so fun these days. Maddox is at one of my favorite ages. 2.5 comes with so much fun. He is talking up a storm and has just the funniest things to say. A couple of months ago while I was putting Maddox to bed, he interrupted story time to tell me my shirt was not cool but that his was. Then, this morning he woke up with crazy bed head. I told him to go look in the mirror at his crazy hair. When he did he laughed then, told me to fix it. LOL, while I did that I told him it was time to get a hair cut. He hates doing that, so the whole way to the babysitter's house he kept saying I don't want to get my hair cut. I told him we were going there right now but he just kept repeating himself. So, we pull up to Ms. Tracie's house and then he starts pouting because he wants to get his hair cut. I start laughing about it and he says in a very serious voice, "it not funny, don't laugh". I couldn't help myself though. One more story and I'll move on. Maddox had jelly on his english muffin so his hands were very sticky and he asked to wash his hands. Jody turned on the faucet and Maddox hoisted himself onto the counter, legs dangling, to wash his hands. After several minutes, he was still in there. So I go to see what is going on. I walk in and Maddox has his entire head under the water. He looks up and says,"my hair is dirty I need to wash it", then, resumes "washing" his hair. Seeee, he is hilarious.
So for the forth we went to the parade our town puts on every year. Maddox LOVED the parade. He was just sitting in his little chair watching the action. Evelyn on the other hand had little interest. She was much more excited about running up and down the sidewalk. Jody and I took turns following her. It was nice. I also got to snuggle my bestie's baby Vivian. She is such a sweet baby, only fussing in the evening, I've nicked name her magic baby, oh and sweet cheeks. Anyway here are some pics.
Later that day, after naps, we headed over to Connie's house (H's mom) to eat and continue to celebrate. It was fun. Maddox had the best time playing with the other kids and learning to shoot water guns. We also went swimming for a little while. The food was amazing and Evelyn got to eat what I think may be her favorite food, watermelon. Then, on the way home we decided to stop and get some snacks and try to get a look at the fire works. It was late, Evie slept right through them, but Maddox thought they were awesome.
When we finally made the exit to our house after a very fun day, we see Brian (H's) husband on the side of the road next to his truck. He told us that he had been hit by a drunk driver who fled the scene. The worst part was he had their baby, Vivian in the car with him. Heidi showed up a few minutes later completely shaken up. It was awful, the guy in a blue blazer got away. I don't think they've found him still. It made me sad for them. I can only imagine how scary that was.
