This Spring Break was one of the best I've had in a long time. My ex-sister-in-law offerred to share her mother's time share with us in New Braunfels, TX. We could have gone as a family but I was feeling burnt out and honestly wanted to sleep in for once in the past two and half years. SO, I asked my girlfriends if any of them would be interested in leaving behind their babies and go on a short trip with me. With most of them still having very young kids, Krystelle was the only taker. Our only plan was to sleep in and eat slow, the two thing I miss about prekid life. Ya know, it was just what we needed. Krystelle's mom, Sandra, died just a few month before my mother did and we are both a bit gaurded when it comes to those feelings. Having someone I have such a history with going through the same thing in life that I am, makes her very easy to talk to about all this. I still miss my mom, everyday. Everytime I think of her I have to talk my way back to being okay with what has happened, Krystelle understands that. She knows that this isn't something that I will get over, we'll be mourning the death of our mothers for the rest of our lives. Until we meet again. Anyway, the trip was so good in other ways too. We stopped at the outlets in Round Rock had breakfast at LaMadeline and went shopping for a little while. Then, we met up with some of my college friends and had lunch. It was so so good to see Sandy and Keith and check out their house they just bought and meet their new dog child. I love them so much, they have a very different life than I have, remind me of how young I still am. I love that about them. Next we headed down to Gruene, TX. That is where the resort we were staying at is. It is such a cute little town, their hostric distric is really cute, had dinner and a couple of drinks then headed back to the resort to just hang out and talk. While the plan was to sleep in, I just couldn't really do it. I forced myself to stay in bed 7 hours, but I was up so I went for a run. We hung out by the pool and attempted to darken my ghost white legs, tried German food, wine tasted, and listened to some good ole hill country music at Gruene Hall. That was one of the best parts of the trip, I love Texas Country Music and the new singer we met that night, Amanda Shires, beautiful girl, beautiful voice, and great fiddle. Our last day we decided to go to Wimberly. This part of our trip left a lot to be desired. When we got there we parked and tried to zip line, but they were booked for days. Next we went to a wine store and tasted more wine and got a couple to take back home with us, that was the best part of the trip. We didn't just have horrible service, we were down right treated like we inconvienced that waitress by existing, so we left. Headed back to Austin, had some Texadelphia and headed home. I missed my family and couldn't wait to snuggle my babies, but I'm glad I went. It was the first time I'd spent the night away from them, now I know I can do it.
