I'm still alive (and am in love with a few things)....

I think posting a Favorite Five list would be a good way to jump back into posting again. It's been almost four months! (slacker)

1.

We've been eating fruits/veggies by the truckload lately, so Costco has gotten even more of our money than usual lately. We've been buying kale, cucumbers, tomatoes, strawberries, carrots, avocados, eggs, squash, ground beef, and bell peppers nearly weekly! I love their produce and have been so thankful to have one so close by.

2.

I did the Advocare 24 Day Challenge in January and my life continues to be transformed. I love the challenge because it taught me how to eat right and to eat often. It showed ME how to be in control of my eating instead of giving in to my cravings, which has been incredibly powerful and fulfilling. I've now lost 35 pounds and feel SO good. I've been running lately (which is SO outside of who I know myself to be) and enjoying it! Tomorrow's the last day of my second Challenge. I did it this time with seven other women and one guy. It has been awesome to hear their stories of triumph and excitement about feeling good.

3.

As hoky as it sounds, I'm really thankful for our church. It's taken us a couple of years to get back into attending regularly after having Jordan, but it's one thing that I feel (in a good way) holds us here. We love the people, the staff, and the passion so much. The last few months the sermons have been about having a vision for your life, being generous, and being a servant. There's no guilt and no 'shoulds'. But there's a lot of motivation, love, and caring for others. It's really cool to be a part of.

4.

We canceled cable in November. I don't miss it at all! I love Roku (and Netflix)!! I've worked my way through Parenthood, Friday Night Lights, How I Met Your Mother, Hot in Cleveland, and am now working on Crossing Jordan and Frasier. Saving money and getting to watch virually any show I want has been amazing. And, they recently added a PBS Kids channel....Jordan is a happy girl.

5. Speaking of Jordan....I have to end my Favorite Five with her. She's seriously awesome. She's totally a thinker, planner, problem solver who is persistent and driven (i.e. annoying if I don't happen to agree with her) and so so sweet and caring. I'm blown away by her every day. I can't wait to spend summer with her exploring, playing, relaxing, and talking. Her she is pretending to read The Mouse and the Motorcycle, which we just started reading together before bed.

(BTW....There are plenty of things in my life that suck. And, I don't intend for this post to be broadcasting that my life is perfect...like how FB can give a false impression. I'm an honest girl and am happy to talk about the bumps in the road! But, there are a lot of things I'm thankful for and I choose to focus on those for now.)
