Whee Wii!
I've been trying to get a Wii for quite a while now. I had tried to get one when preorders were available in October ahead of the mid-November release. However, while I was in line that morning, it turns out that the person right ahead of me was the last person to get one as their per-order limit had been met. The "funny" thing was that while waiting in line, I bought the Zelda game for it, so I've had a game for a system I don't have for months. But that turned out to be a blessing in disguise as it look longer to find a job that I thought it would at the time and that wasn't a necessary expense.
At work Monday I was talking to another trainee who had bought one and I was asking him if there were any retailers in town that I might have missed now that I had a job and was able to buy one again. The Wii supply seems to have gotten tight again as one store in town said they'd not recieved any in over a month. Scott, one of the trainers, overheard me talking about it and said I should talk to Amanda, the other trainer, because she'd bought one before. It turns out she was one of those people who bought them to resell them for a quick profit back in November, but she said I should talk to Brandon, one of the supervisors here, as he used to be a manager at Best Buy. So I talked to him and he put in a call to a buddy there and the next time they get a shipment in of them, one will be put aside with Brandon's name on it and I'll be able to get that one. This sure beats going from store to store to look for one, but they don't know when they're going to get another shipment in.
