It was probably 40 degrees on Monday in Melbourne. It certainly felt like that as we packed.

Tuesday was spent on planes and in the weird non-space that is the airports of the world.

My work life is simplifying itself.

Last month I finished working with the National Gallery of Victoria.  They offered me a new project, but I couldn't fit it in.  I've learnt my lesson about taking on commitments that I can't fulfill (at least for now).

Yesterday (late last night, actually), I applied for a job as a Research Development Advisor. Basically a glorified grant writer, helping researchers to find funding.

If by chance I get selected, I'm in two minds about whether I should take it (so don't freak out yet, morsla).

A few weeks ago, I found out that the core of my employment (three days a week) will almost certainly end this year.  After a bit of self-reflection, I realised that I love working on different projects and don't actually want to do the same thing for five or more days a week.

My project for the National Gallery of Victoria, Pictures of the Floating World, got a guernsey in the 2010 Horizon Report (K-12 edition).

That makes me happy because I like the Horizon Reports. They are good.  The Horizon Project (which produces them) "...identifies and describes emerging technologies likely to have a large impact on teaching, ( Read more... )
