the truth

everything that people do and fight for seems to be derived from how each person thinks it's all going to end. I saw a cartoon the other day that showed a little girl in a wheel chair, sitting at a table in her kitchen reading a newspaper. As she reads the newspaper, she says to herself in shock, "They're prepared to spend HOW MUCH to get a man to walk on MARS?" Haha. I thought it was funny, poignant, and yet another mindfuck. Some people will never walk. And maybe someday, we'll all have to leave this planet behind, and colonize Mars. Who knows? Really though, everything that people argue for really seems to come from how they see the end of the world. Some people are pro-choice, and they believe that everyone rights will be their own, as long as they don't impede on another's. Then there are the people who are against abortion, the pro-lifers. They seem to believe that legalizing abortion is akin to the holocaust, and if they do not stop it, God will come down upon them in utter wrath. I spoke to a kid recently who argued that allowing same-sex marriage is just another step towards the fall of American society. He said after legalizing sodomy, beastilality would be next. Now, I do sorta see his point. He didn't argue it like he gave a shit. He just said it, "Look, people don't care anymore if guys do it with guys and girls with girls. And pretty soon, they'll argue that if the animal doesn't seem to mind, well, that'll be ok too." Again, he didn't seem to be very bothered by this. He just believed that homosexuality, along with many other religious impurities, is one of the steps downhill for civilization. Others believe that accepting other people's desires is the only way for civilization to expand and become better. And then there's McWorld vs. Jihad. On one hand, America is the corporate devil that the world sees us as. On the other hand, terrorists and Islamic fundamentalists - they're fuckin psycho too. Each sees the end of the world one way, and they each want to be on top in the end - whether it be to have a lot of money, or 72 virgins at one's disposal. Speaking of...
