I PASSED JUNIOR MOVES!!! WHEE!!!
The warm up went pretty well. I couldn't do the power pull-quick rocker pattern very well, but I did a few slow exercises and then got off. I wasn't too nervous.
I started off fine. The forward power circles were fine, not the fastest I've done. I had a very slight trip in the CW, my weaker side. Backward power circles were good. Outside rockers were strong, I had a minor balance check on one of the backwards ones. Inside rockers were OK, a bit diagonal.
Then I come to the dreaded power pull-quick rockers. Of course, I screwed up the right foot on the BO/FO turn, and put my free foot down. I kept going and thank god I did the left foot OK. My coach kept saying, "Finish strong" by doing a good choctaw pattern. The choctaws were good, not the best I've ever done them but I kept up the speed pretty well and they weren't choppy.
I was called back for a reskate. The one judge says, "Power pulls on the right foot. Just. stay. on. one. foot." and giving me a stern, "we really want to pass you but you have to help us out here" kind of look. :D I asked the judges if I could do a practice pattern first - thinking if I screwed up the first time, I could have another try. But the first time was great, and they were watching, so they said "We'll take it!"
One judge passed me over by .5, the others were both over by .1.
Here are the sheets:
Judge 1 /
Judge 2 /
Judge 3 The comments that made my day: 1. My coach told me that she wasn't worried about me because I skate well under pressure. 2. When the test chair gave me the sheets, she hugged me and said that the judges loved what I did on my test. 3. One judge's comment on my outside rockers: "very clean w/teriffic edge quality". I mostly get "OK" or "fine" or sometimes "good" on my test sheets. *blushes*
I still can't really believe it. :) I'm on SENIOR MOVES. I have one more test to pass and I will have my GOLD MEDAL. How did that happen?!
