It's nice to visit a sea park or marine park once in awhile, remind myself of the lovely marine life that exist in another part of the world, the ocean

Dunno why, but everytime when it gets near to winter, body system seems to feel like it is going into hibernation. Feeling lethargic and restless, and no amount of sleep will suffice. Well, it has been a fruitful year, in terms of travel.... though my boss will beg to differ, considering that I've used up all my leave this year travelling... :P

Tonle Sap, name of the biggest freshwater lake in Cambodia, and South-East Asia. Home to many Cambodians, Vietnamese and other immigrants, where they bathe, cook and make a living. There, along the Tonle Sap, I witness for myself how the children of Cambodia live.

It was kind of unfortunate we only had 2 days in Kyoto. So much to do and explore in this quaint little city. There's something for everyone, food, shopping, historical sights, etc.

Given the limited time we have on the 2nd day, we focus our energy on the north-western part of Kyoto.

We were lucky to land ourselves a tradtional Ryokan for our Kyoto leg accomodation. Situated a mere 5 mins walk away from Kyoto Station, Heianbo is everything we wanted and more. This is the impression that Osaka gave me... an eccentric mix of old and new.

We did not have much time in Osaka. After meeting S at the hotel, we headed for Osaka castle.

This castle has been re-built a couple of times, like many of Japan's castle, destroyed or damaged during WW2. I enjoyed the little park around the castle. I can only imagine ( Read more... )
