Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue
I left all my friends in SG when I relocated for work. But here in a foreign land, I was lucky to meet some new friends. P joined the company on the same day as I did.... we had the same orientation, found out we were going to the same division, of similar age, had similar working experience, and.... similar interest outside work (aka shopping).
P always kindly invited me along to her shopping trips.. she was the one who first brought me around the city area, introducing the various shopping haunts, keeping me well-informed of all the sales in town. She's also one of the few who will painstakingly translate stuff to me in English at the start when my Mandarain was utterly disgraceful, ensuring I comprehend what she says.. even if it was just a joke.
P got married last month.. and it was everything she said she wanted: A 0.50 carat diamond ring, an outdoor lunch reception.. a groom to serenade when she make an entrance.....Admittedly, all these do not make a perfect marriage, but you can't deny a little girl's childhood dreams of a perfect wedding can you?
