HARRY POTTER AND THE GOBLET OF FIRE ! OMG, I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE IT AGAIN. I LOVE IT, IT'S THE BEST ONE YET.

We apologize for the noise, normal service will be resumed as soon as possible.

Yes, I very much enjoyed seeing this film. Whoever adapted it did a brilliant job. As well as getting so much into a two and a half hour film, the screenplay ( Read more... )

I think that's the first time I have "heard" you shout. But I must say I totally agree, this HP must be the best one so far. I have only seen it once, but would certainly like to see it again.

A very happy and peaceful new year to you too, Jocasta.

I don't usually shout, I'm not that type of person but I was very excited about that film and I have been feeling quite ebullient over the holidays.
I hope you enjoyed the new year celebrations.

I Loved, Loved, LOVED that film. The others have bored me in parts but this one was just perfect. The repetetive elemnts were taken away and we got to see three young adults in the lead rather than three kids. The scenes at the ball and pre and post the ball were fabulous I thought, especially the touch of Neville finding his niche in life by learning to dance. Suddenly he was not the gawky boy at the back of the class but the mature one who knew how to handle himself socially. I. Loved. It.

And Happy New Year to you too.

I agree. the young actors have grown in experience and are now able to handle both the comedy and the more serious elements convincingly. Also, it is nice to see the minor characters getting some screen time. Neville's dancing was a beautiful touch. He is actually one of my favourite characters in the books and I wonder whether he is going to have a very important role to play before the end.
The Prisoner of Azkhaban was a huge disappointment and it's good to see that they are back on track with these films. However, the next one is going to be a nightmare to adapt, it was so rambling.

Absolutely, and it makes the films 3 & 4 look very different from films 1 & 2.

I loved GOF too, definitely the best one so far. The only thing I would have given my eyeteeth to see was the match at the Quidditch Championship. I love Quidditch and I was so excited when they were in that huge arena and the teams came flying in, but alas, no game. Perhaps it will be in the deleted scenes, one can hope.
Oh, and I while I loved David Tennant as Barty Crouch Jr. that thing with his tongue was so contrived, it didn't seem like a real tick at all.

I presume that there was no actual Quidditch because they wanted theis film to be very different from the others. However, you may be lucky and it simply had to be removed in cutting, for reasons of time.

IIRC the Quidditch World Cup game was left out of the movie because it would take up too much time. And I also believe it would have been very expensive to film it. Still, there must be other Quidditch fans out there who would be keen on seeing it so I really hope there is some footage on the dvd. I am keeping my paws crossed at any rate :)

Yes, it must take ages just to shoot the Quidditch scenes, let alone do the effects for them.
