First Half Marathon
Soooooooo, if someone had told me two years ago that I'd be completing a half marathon walk...I would have laughed before responding..."I don't want to drive 13 miles let alone walk them". Yesterday that's exactly what I did this weekend.
The experience is unimaginable. Really. The walk/run was along the river and between the water and the bright color of the leaves...it was a beautiful sight for the 13 miles I had to walk.
At every mile mark there was a group cheering us on, giving us water, even making sure we were ok.
Others doing the walk kept encouraging me to continue and I even made a new friend tat I met towards rhe end and urged me to finish when I though I couldn't. I even offered a group $15 to drive me 2 miles but the didn't and so I crossed the finish line, situated right at table rock and the falls.
I heard my name announced as I crossed and received my medal. It was an incredible accomplishment and I can't wait to do it again.
So 10/23/1, I'll be doing ot again, hopefully with more friends. I won't say it's easy...it's not, it was so veer hard...but it was well worth it!!!
