Who: Jenda
Where: the beach for a date!

Our last weekend in Indonesia had come up too fast. I didn't want to go to China and start that movie. Well actually I was torn. I did want to go to China because then I could see my mom but she and Joe would be spending time together while I worked and that made me a little jealous. I wanted to spend time with my mom too. But anyway, before we left on Monday, I wanted to do something special for Joe. He'd been taking me out on a lot of dates and I loved every one of them but I wanted to take him out for once. I knew he wouldn't let me take him somewhere since he hated for me to pay for things so instead, I decided to cook him dinner. The resort had a cooking class but I didn't really need it since I knew how. I mostly just wanted them to pick up my ingredients and then give me a place to cook. I talked to the manager of the resort and told him my plan and he was more than willing to help me out. Of course, he didn't have much of a choice since I reminded him how much we were paying for this month. When you have the cash, anything is possible.

I wanted to do something extra special for Joe and after talking to my grandmother a few times, I decided that I wanted to cook him a traditional Chinese wedding feast. A few people in my family had voiced their displeasure that we didn't go with tradition for our wedding but I knew his family wouldn't have enjoyed it. So just to make sure I got it in, I decided we could do it now. I made a list of all the ingredients that I would need and sent the guy after them. It took me awhile to find the recipes and after a few phone calls to various family members, I had my collection.

I told Joe that I was going to spend the day at the spa to get ready for our date to throw him off. He never wanted to go to the spa so I didn't have to worry about him tagging along. To make it even more realistic, I took Holly with me. Since she was so tired lately, I figured she could sleep in my purse while I ran around cooking. Not an unusual routine for us. I smiled at the guy that brought me all of the ingredients and then set about my work. The thing about a traditional Chinese wedding feast was that there were eight courses. I was going to make all of the food and get it ready and then have the chef that I hired finish it up and bring it to us. That way, I could spend time with Joe and not have to run back and forth the whole night. I spent the day chopping and slicing and spicing things up. Most of this stuff wasn't complicated, it was just a lot of prep work. By the time I got done, I only had a few minutes to spare to get ready since Joe was meeting me on the beach.

I ran into a different room and changed into Joe favorite short red dress that I had brought and then slipped on some heels. Then I put Holly into her little red dress and went back to the kitchen with her following. I peaked out of the door and saw Joe standing on the beach by the bale and decided it was time to go out. I checked the food one last time before I picked up the platter with our first round of food and carried it to the table with Holly trailing after me. I set it on the table before I slipped off my heels and then walked over to Joe. "Hi honeybear," I smiled as I slipped my hand into his and kissed his cheek. He smiled and told me I looked pretty before he picked up Holly and told her the same. "She's going to join us for dinner tonight since she was my sous chef for the day." Joe asked me what I meant and I led him over to the table. "For our date tonight, we are going to have a traditional Chinese wedding feast since we didn't have one at our wedding. I've been cooking it all day," I smiled at him. "Our first dish is a Dragon Phoenix plate that has different types of meats and nuts." He said it looked good and then asked what the purple stuff was. "Oh...that's jellyfish. It tastes pretty good!"
