so. i worked yesterday. boo. i had to learn how to make french fries. scary. i have this fear of burns, so i was just scared the whole time. I was about to say i have this irrational fear of burns, but i don't think that's true. i think a fear of burns is perfectly rational. anyway. before my frying experience i had my break and i had a call from Megan (one of the roomies) asking if i wanted to go see Wishes and go on Splash Mtn at the Magic Kingdom. um, DUH. splash has been closed since we got her for cleaning and such and just opened this weekend (yes, i am this cool). I have been dying to see it, so i jumped at the chance. plus the park was open until midnight so we could get a couple more quality hours in. Of course, do i get off work on time? no. that is just not possible. so its, like 9:58 and the fireworks start at 10 so i am speeding out of the parking lot and, of course, they start as i am driving down the street. sad day. unfortunately, its not like the fireworks at home on the 4th of july when you can tune into a radio station and hear the music no matter where you are. That would just be unDisney. so, i make it to the park as the throngs of people with small children are leaving and got to meet Megan and Elyse at Splash.
So, we go on splash and get thoroughly soaked. life is now complete for awhile. So, next we head for snow white, which i don't think i've ever seen. so, we're walking through fantasyland and Elyse keeps telling us all these things she's never seen (no peter pan...wtf?) so we're like "wow. we have a lot of things we need to do in this hour." as we're walking though, this family comes up to us and the mom is holding something. Then...we see what she has in her hand..extra magic hour passes. the most beautiful thing in the disney universe. and she goes "we were given these by a family, but we're not going to use them, would you like them?" um, YES!!! Extra magic hour (EMH) is a special thing disney have to encourage people to stay on site. Disney hotel guests just show their room key at the park on the specified day and get to stay in the park and ride almost all of the rides four a couple of extra hours, usually with much shorter waits. us poor employees don't get this privilige, just hotel guests, so we were PUMPED. So, long story short (because i need to get ready to go to work...and we have EMH tonight) we were handed an extra two hours at the park and took advantage. the longest we had to wait for anything was space mtn (not surprisingly) and that was even only a half hour. so, overall, frickin' amazing night with two of the roomies. life is good.
and now...off to work...poo.
