But I figured out how to add a list of links to my journal! Wow, it's hard to either narrow or expand it to 5. One or two would be easy, or 15 or 25 would be easy (I could show you all my timewasters and funny sites, and also be pedantic and show all sorts of weird informational sites). I guess I could update to paid journal status.
So anyway,
sarasusa's links which seemed to have recently showed up on her site gave me the idea of putting the Quaker site on. Then, since I can't boost it enough, there's Doodle's wonderful school. Not that it has a lot of info about the school itself, but they are hoping to upgrade the website soon. The pick-an-angel I found because I was looking for the angel cards my shiatsu person has in a basket in her bathroom. I always pick one (with clean hands of course) and try to make that quality important at least for the day, if not the week. I was intrigued that they had a pick-an-angel option on their website--now why do I want to buy the cards if I can do it online for free? But I like it anyway.
Tomorrow is the much dreaded garage sale at my parents' house. The 3 of us plus Sarasusa have to get out there early and help set up. I have a lot of stuff out there, most notably lots and lots of outgrown Doodle clothes, which were very difficult to let go of. It just shows it's more and more likely all the time that Doodle will be an only child. Mostly I'm comfortable with that and live every day assuming that that is the case (especially considering my recent health stuff). And I know Rupel turned out okay as an only. But having grown up with such wonderful siblings as
sarasusa (oh and a couple of goofball bros in between) I wonder what it will be like for Doodle to be an only child as an adult. Well, at least he has 2 only cousins so maybe they will look out for each other like Rupel and his cousin do. One can but hope.
The garage sale is gonna be totally exhausting, not just getting up early to pick up Sarasusa and get out to the 'burbs, but all the setting up and dealing with the public (People! Ack! 5 supreme intoverts--6 if you count Doodle--do not effective salesfolk make). Then we have to take all the unsold stuff up to the Meetinghouse for their jumble sale, because I am NOT letting it back into the house, even though it will pain me to see stuff I spent good $ for go--but it's for a good cause. And once the stuff is gone I won't miss it.
Yay, the Phillies just won again! And the Flyers yesterday...I think Smarty Jones was a good luck charm for Philadelphia sports.
Today I helped Doodle make banana bread so he can have a lemonade, limeade, and banana bread stand tomorrow. He did a lot of the work (including mushing the nasty old squishy bananas). He accidentally broke my special wisk that Sarasusa gave me and he was in total despair. I don't know what to do when he gets like that. If he didn't bang his head or things like that it would be okay to just let him wail for a while. Poor little guy. But he is getting better all the time at looking at the bright side.
We had to run out to get butter at the fale koloa (Tongan for corner store). They sold it in individual quarters. Weird.
