Event: Masi, Sendhil, Ali and Greg at Vivocity, 3pm (*COUGH*)
Still something worth blogging about, in fact the only blog-worthy event that has happened in ages (if nothing for the experience at least), despite the fact that Xi An and I were a teensy weensy bit disappointed about what we saw, or more accurately, what we didn't get to see -_-'''.
So. My second time at a fan event. (the first being a Blue autograph session in 2004 at the Heeren in which the crowd was positively mild and barely there compared to the maniacs that were out today) and my second time in a moshy situation. (the first being of course, the Muse gig which opened the year)
A play by play narration of what happened BEFORE they arrived.
2.20pm: Arrival of Xi An and I at Vivocity
2.30pm: Finding a huge crowd of people packed together on the first level and some on the second as well.
2.35pm: Stationed ourselves at the red carpet. Armed ourselves with cameras, and a notepad should any of the four Heroes stop long enough to grab an autograph.
2.40pm: Waiting....
2.45pm: Waiting.......
2.50pm: Waiting.............
2.55pm: Waiting.................Starting to get irritated by the people in front of me. A couple of overenthu fans in front of me, including one who kept shouting "Yatta!!!!" (the Hiro catchphrase)every few minutes really got on my nerves.
3.15pm: Xi An takes out her CLL book to mug.....
3.16pm: I take out my Econs notes to mug......
3.20pm: We give up on mugging
3.30pm: Some random guy on the stage starts talking and promises that the Heroes will be there in 5 min.
3.35pm: .............nth is happening
3.40pm: ok. so after standing in line to GET IN to the muse concert for 2.5 hrs and waiting another 1 hr and 15 min for them to arrive has clearly proved that punctuality is a word that doesn't exist to artistes (not that i blame them, somehow the thought of a punctual artiste just doesn't seem right), BUT this is getting really tiring.
They FINALLY turned up around 3.50, and they walked by us in around 5 seconds, with a crowd of security people surrounding them. So really, what were we supposed to see? Then they got on the stage, said some random stuff that I couldn't really hear because of the dumb screaming fans, went backstage, and then began the long walk back to the entrance/exit which was seriously A VERY CREEPY EXPERIENCE. A mosh pit is one thing, BUT a FRANTICALLY RUSHING mosh pit is really downright traumatic. As Sendhil, Masi, Ali and Greg walked, the crowd just swarmed forward toward them and tried desperately to, I don't know, touch them, give them gifts, get a photo, get an autograph whatever. For me, I just wanted to catch a glimpse (I had long given up on photo opportunites after seeing the trouble xi was having getting good photos with her pro cam with so many people blocking us...my hp cam would have been much worse)
So I tried walking with the crowd to follow the heroes to the exit, the keyword being tried, since i ended up being pushed almost all the way in the end, and at one point, I thought I was going to fall, get trampled on by the gazillion heroes fans!
But still..can't imagine how the 4 heroes would feel? Must be overwhelming. Imagine an endless crowd with the collective goal of rushing at you.
Nevertheless, (this may seem strange after that whole tirade), I don't regret going. Well at least now I can say I've "met" Masi, Sendhil, Ali and Greg. And the 4 of them are really big sweethearts. Wasn't really a Mohinder and Nikki fan before this, but must say that this has changed a bit after today.
Sendhil looks great in person!(especially in white I just realized. The show's wardrobe people should give him more of this colour instead of those things he usually wears) Greg too. Of course, this could be something to do with how they were the two people I caught the most glimpses of since they're fairly tall. (THANK GOODNESS for that. Oh Masi, Barely saw any of him and I was looking forward to him coming the most.) Greg is soooo friendly. He really seems as personable and warm as his roles, whether as Matt Parkman or Eric Weiss in Alias. Ali Larter looked great as well. BUT i still do wish the Petrelli Brothers and Sylar had come too...
Hmm. I'm mildly tempted to go to the Esplanade tomorrow since they're having photo-calls there BUT in other news, I'm pretty much dead meat for prelims so... I am so unprepared that I don't know how I could be more unprepared? And I dont feel the motivation to get prepared! (Instead, I've been indulging in new music)
Nvm. Shall not think about unhappy things today while I'm still high on the I-just-saw-the-heroes-omgomg-this-is-surreal kind of adrenaline.
