1. Thanks! After I wrote this entry, the mail came and I got my letter from immigration extending my green card for a year - this is automatic when you hold a temporary green card currently, and apply for the permanent green card, to give them time to process your application, but not having the letter was making me feel a bit antsy, since I'm walking around with an expired green card and no way to prove that I am not, in fact, one of those evil illegal immigrants. So I'm pretty damn chuffed about that too.
2. Would you be interested (and have time) to read the draft and let me know what you think?
3. I know, right?
4. Hopefully somebody will nominate one of them, but there are an awful lot of good poems out there so I'm not holding my breath.

I particularly like the poem about Charon. Lovely structure and images.

If you are interested in girly stuff, you might want to check out the community stylishly_yours. It's not particularly American, but there are several intelligent women talking about style and gender in both practical and theoretical ways.

Thanks for the props on the Charon poem, and for the link - I've added it to my bookmarks and will start reading it regularly. Yay!

As you'll discover if you plunge into stylishly_yours, to become a full member, an existing member must vouch for your gender, which I can happily do for you.
