I've started quite a few communities out of need or because I thought they would be fun to have existing. I haven't promoted very many of them as it's been a hell of a last few months but I thought I'd mention them.

I started it, I think, around the same time as you did the frottage one, because I think both were actually inspired by the same thread over at TWU, though I'd been considering making the comm for a while, it was more that the thread kind of galvanised me to do it.
Also I was/am thinking of more a 'traditional' porn battle format for the comm - prompts are posted by anyone who wants to post one (example: Nine/Jack, silk) and then prompts are thrown open to anyone who wants to write them for a time period (I was going with a week to post prompts and two weeks for the battle before and I would probably continue with that).
I was thinking about this, though. If you'd be interested, we could use the comm for the battles you and Andreth are doing as well. The prompts ones would probably only run every couple of months anyway, so all we'd need to do would be to make sure that the weekend long battles wouldn't clash with the prompts ones, which would be easy enough. I could add you and Andreth as co-mods.

It's a really good idea to get it posted on the TW_3 newsletter, IMO: a lot of people read that and you get more writers through that than anything, I think.
I'll ask Andreth about using the comm. No preference, really. We did do a poll and the respondents didn't care where the battles are held, though we have heard from a few people publicly and privately that they feel more comfortable posting stuff on a journal of someone they know well, which was sort of the opposite of what I'd expected. (Thought everyone would say "use a comm".)
Andreth came up with the frottage battle idea and she doesn't post at TWU. I don't know where she got the prompt but there was some great fic! :)
I think the next one will be the weekend of the 16 May. Will check with her.
